Junior Oracle Database Administrator

Requires participation in business requirement gathering sessions with business analysts and subject-matter experts. Participate in Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions for system design, database planning, implementation, and life cycle management of projects. Provide analysis and support for database environments and ensure data integrity, availability, and security based on defined requirements.
Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle database systems. Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning techniques to ensure optimal performance. Perform routine database administration tasks such as backups, recovery, patching, and upgrades. Support database migration, deployment, and replication activities.
Develop and maintain database objects such as tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, and triggers using SQL and PL/SQL. Ensure data consistency and integrity through proper database design and constraints. Perform database security management including user roles, privileges, and access controls.
Work closely with development teams to support application deployments and troubleshoot database-related issues. Follow best practices for database management, documentation, and change control processes. Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution. Provide technical and production support as needed.
Requires Degree in computer science/engineering or related field. MS (3 YRS) or BS (5 YRS) of work experience required. Position requires experience in Oracle Database administration, SQL, and PL/SQL. Familiarity with database backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, and monitoring tools. Exposure to Unix/Linux environments and scripting is a plus.
Ability to provide technical support, learn new database technologies, and assist in managing various phases of the project lifecycle.
